San Vito to Ragusa, via Selinunte

After 10 days of unpredictable and changeable weather our time in San Vito Lo Capo has come to an end. Despite several days of hanging around waiting for the weather to improve, the time passed very quickly, and I certainly, was not yet ready to move on. We had extended our stay by an extra … Continue reading San Vito to Ragusa, via Selinunte →

Climbing in San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily

We were last in Sicily only 10 months ago, but we had such a good time that it was high on our list of places to return to. However, this visit has not had the same idyllic conditions, our first three days were almost non-stop rain, high winds, thunder, and single digit temperatures. It was … Continue reading Climbing in San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily →

San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily. 2018

In March 2018 we had an immensely enjoyable trip to Sicily. The long limestone edge at San Vito Lo Capo kept us entertained for days with an abundance of fantastic lines. We were there in March and we rarely came across any other climbers, despite perfect conditions for climbing both in and out of the … Continue reading San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily. 2018 →

Sometimes it just has to be a picture of our cat!
Another lovely day at the crag yesterday, this time we went to Ahuy, a small quarry just outside Dijon. Not a very big crag, nor a classic crag, but it kept us entertained for the day.
After 3 months without climbing on rock we have just had 2 trips outside in the space of 3 days, it has been fantastic! The first day was at #Chambolle-musigny and today at #Fixin. It has been so good to get back on rock 😊
We are allowed out for 3 hours - woopee! So we headed over to the crags at Mont Rome and found a real sun trap, I arrived with 5 layers of clothes on and almost all were quickly discarded! It was so nice to be on proper rock again but now my fingers are really suffering!
There seems to be one consistent aspect to covid lockdowns in France ... gorgeous, warm, sunny days that are perfect for climbing! I am spending my afternoon planting spring bulbs around the fruit trees instead.
Had a great time at #bouilland today before the rain came in. The colour of the trees in the valley was beautiful, and Jon finally managed a clean ascent of his project route. I reckon the cool air gave him the edge, he reckons it was his new training regime! Perhaps a bit of both!
